i loooove where i work. since i started two months ago, we've had muhammad ali, john hodgman, and john legend stop by.

i missed john legend yesterday because i was stuck in a silly hc. luckily someone taped part of the performance and you can watch it here. i guess the guy singing with john sang at the shoreline for a work thang last summer. the best part is when he says, "take it away, john"!!!! hopefully i won't miss any more awesome peeps who stop by soon. :)

Another winter day has come
And gone away
In even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I'm surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I've had my run
Baby, I'm done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be all right
I'll be home tonight
I'm coming back home
(home, michael buble)

there was a random ad on my gmail the other day with a quote by james russell lowell. i really liked it, so i used it below for one of my entries. later on, i google'd more quotes, and put them below. hope you enjoyed that for a bit. hee hee!!

work is still incredibly fun, even though i've been crazy with all the extra hours i was putting in for a while. thank goodness for overtime!! :) it was all worth it for a fun little party on friday night.

this weekend was pretty laid back, just the way i like it. i relaxed for a bit on saturday and then did some collaging. not as much as i wanted to, but it's always great to at least accomplish something. today i hung out with roomies at the pancake house and then at the movies. there is something so great about getting together with your girls, sharing food and life. i really hope we stay in the swing of getting together more often.

well, that's it for now. i should hop into bed and hope for a fun week!! horray!! :)

Her face is a map of the world
Is a map of the world
You can see she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She holds you captivated in her palm

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me
(suddenly i see, kt tunstall)

i guess it's been a while since i've shopped for myself, what with me trying to save some moola and christmas. it was incredibly refreshing to go out and buy some fun things for myself!! and girls, are you with me when i say that buying new bras and panties just feels fantastic?? there's something about wearing a new lacy thong for the first time that makes me giggle to myself.

i usually hate shopping at malls, but i think without the stupid christmas crowd, and knowing what i wanted really helped me out. i was in and out in no time, and got some fun tops, jewelry, and a new pair of cons!! horray!!

oh, and have you ever heard that what you're doing on new year's eve will dictate what you're doing that next year?? when bean and i were caught in customs crap last year, the customs guy from the US told me to stop crying, cause it's was getting close to midnight and he didn't want me crying all that year. anyway, i forgot to mention that i spent my new year's eve with my fam, relaxed, watching movies in my sweats, enjoying a fire, and a little bit of bubbly!! at midnight, i was dancin around and skipping outside to the beautiful fireworks!! i can't wait for this year!! :)

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.

Call me call me for your lover's lover's alibi
Call me on the line
Call me call me any anytime
Call me
(call me, blondie)

grrrrrrrrrrrr. so i got a new phone recently and wasn't able to transfer the numbers from my old one because they didn't have the device at best buy. they're usually at phone stores. i waited a bit to go to sprint to get this transfered because i hate traffic/people christmas shopping/returns/the whole crazy december crowd. i just called the local store and they said they'd do it for free (horray!!) as long as i brought in the receipt that shows i bought it at a sprint store. i told the guy i bought it at best buy because sprint didn't carry it yet, and he asked if it was the new slvr. yesssss, yes it was. it turns out that sprint doesn't have the technology available to transfer numbers to the slvr until they start to carry them. WHICH IS IN APRIL.

now i have the joy of writing down and entering in ~170 numbers in my new phone. gah!! it will be better once it's done because then i'll actually know who's texting me. i guess if this is the worst thing to happen to me today, i'm doing pretty good. i shouldn't complain. hee hee!! :)
