time for a sharkies update...courtesy of moi!! hee hee!! as you last read, erik and i had tickets to see the sharks play the canucks (horray!!) on thursday. once we got there, a scalper was shouting out, "upgrade your tickets...second row." and i replied with, "nope, first row." he again said, "second row" and i said, "we're in the first row...DOWNGRADE!!" hhahaahahhahaah...okay it's not that funny now, but it was hilarous at the time.

luckily we got there early, so i had time to check out the new stuff in the store. they have the sharks scarf again!! thank goodness cause last year, they had it when i was in van, then they ran out!! you better believe i snagged that, a pink sharks hat, and a beanie!! awwww yeah!!

since our tickets were so awesome, we had club access which isn't that big of a deal to me. i still got nachos and a beer. you can't take that away from me, ever!!

there was a very funny looking penalty box official guy (what ARE their official titles??) who walked by several times on the ice. lucklily the last time he walked by, erik got a pic of him, with my head next to him. he has this great old-timey mustache. sort of like rollie fingers, but better. i'll have to get erik to post it soon. :) speaking of officials, they only had one ref at first, then someone magoo appeared out of nowhere.

i sang the canadian national anthem so loud at the beginning of the game. i always feel bad for the hockey players when they've got to sing to TWO national anthems. it looks like they just want to get the game going!!

our seats were on the right side of the penalty box, sort of right in front of the face off circle on that bottom side of the ice. it was cool to see the canucks warming up, and look at all of these new faces. they had two really REALLY short players, and i can only remember one of the names, reid. he honestly couldn't have been more than 5'5'' and looked very young. he did try really hard when he played, though!!

and of course since we were so close to the glass, we got to jump and act crazy when there was a great hit in front of us. there were several, and one 1/2 one attempted by cheech. it was a partial cheech-check...hahahahahah!! but it's so odd to see the angry faces, knowing someone's going to get hit about one foot in front of you and not flinch when it happens. i didn't kiss the glass when he skated by...i was a good girl. i did give him several shoutouts and a few, "horrays!!" :)

there was a hat trick by milan, and i wasn't wearing a hat, so i had nothing to throw. there weren't too many thrown on the ice, and i wasn't about to throw my new pink one on the ice just for shits and giggles. saaaawwwwwrrry!! the other goal that night was scored by cheech, horray!!, so of course i was happy. the only part i was a little bummed about was that they stopped playing, "rock and roll pt. 2" by gary glitter for each goal scored. they played something else that you couldn't figure out what it was, but the signs all said, "hey!" and hella people were confused. i read that they are trying out new songs and seeing what people like. i still think gary glitter should be played because i'll always associate that with a sharkies goal.

so yeah, that was my first sharkies game of this season (albeit pre-season) but it was totally worth paying a butt-load for front row seats. i'll have to do it again maybe later in the season or next year since it does put a bit of a damper in your pocket. :) but yes, fun was had and the overall experience was a big, "HORRAY!!" :)
